The Heisman Trophy winner’s decision to forego his baseball commitment signifies his intention to commit to the gridiron.Over the next two months, NFL teams will continue doing homework on Murray and deciding whether or not he’s a fit for them. The consensus is that he’ll be a first-round pick, but whether he’ll go in the top 10 or have to wait a little longer remains to be seen.Speaking on a conference call with reporters today, ESPN’s Mel Kiper had plenty of praise for the dynamic Murray. He even named a pair of teams he sees as potential fits.Kiper predicted Murray could go fourth overall to the Oakland Raiders or 13th overall to the Miami Dolphins.Mel Kiper: Kyler Murray’s arm-strength. His football IQ. Today’s game suits him perfectly. He could go No. 4 to Oakland, No. 13 to Miami. Could he go ahead of Dwayne Haskins? Sure. Haskins is a traditional pocket-paser. You want Murray outside the pocket. #Oklahoma #NFLDraft— Matt Lombardo (@MattLombardoNFL) February 19, 2019Kiper actually mocked Murray to the Dolphins in his latest 2019 draft projection. Miami has a new head coach in Brian Flores and is in search of a new franchise quarterback after the end of the Ryan Tannehill experience. The Raiders might need a QB, depending on how they feel about Derek Carr. It would be tough to predict with great certainty what Jon Gruden will do at this point. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos and New York Giants are other teams in the top 10 that could potentially draft a quarterback, though Denver is said to be “smitten” with Drew Lock.
